Think City Sdn Bhd (“Think City”) is a special project vehicle (SPV) established by Khazanah Nasional Berhad – as a 100% subsidiary – to implement and manage the George Town Grants Programme. The Board of Think City has been selected to reflect a mix of local subject experts and representatives from Khazanah Nasional Bhd. It is led by the Chairperson, Prof. Dato' Dr. Anwar Fazal, and members of the board include Ar. Laurence Loh, Hamdan Abdul Majeed and Suryani Senja Alias. Hamdan is also the Executive Director for Think City.

All projects we undertake should be catalytic, encourage partnership, be developmental, inclusive and sustainable. We also encourage projects that are creative and innovative, particularly with regards to solving urban problems.

Through the Grants Programme, we hope to create a culturally vibrant & sustainable city. We also hope to protect and remove from the endangered list trades, services and ways of life traditionally associated with the George Town world heritage site. We believe that through outreach and educational programmes, we can encourage local communities to be more aware of their unique history and heritage.

• Ultimately, the George Town Grants Programme will help make small businesses more resilient and enhance George Town’s Outstanding Universal Values. We also hope to make a substantial contribution towards the creation of a Special Area Plan and a Heritage Management for the George Town World Heritage Site.
